 "No Red Rose in all my garden!" he cried, and his beautiful eyes filled with tears.
"Here at last is a true lover," said the Nightingale. "Night after night have I sung of him, though I knew him not: night after night have I told his story to the stars, and now I see him. His hair is dark as the hyacinth- blossom, and his lips are Red as the Rose of desire; but passion has made his face like pale Ivory, and sorrow has set her seal on his brow."

The Nightingale and the Rose
Oscar Wilde
Sometimes, but very rarely you can stumble upon an area of secluded peace in central London.
The Roses will be gone soon but with their absence comes the crisp beauty and scent of Autumn... my favourite.

  10. There has always been a universal belief in Earthly Paradises, places on Earth that correspond to locales in Paradise. To feel that connection is to feel like one has died and gone to heaven. There is never an unseemly sight, never ugliness in any sense. It is a perpetual delight, a continual hum of people and of colours, sounds and smells. If one could stay there forever one would be in Paradise. A Pygmalion or even a Galatea.

    The Urdu poet Mir has spoken of the pale and loitering lover also:

    Mir Ji zard hotey jatey ho
    Kya kehin tum ney bhi kiya hey ishq

    [Sir Mir you get paler by the day
    Are you also stricken by love?
    ]

    In another verse:

    Halqey ankhhon men parr geyey monh zard
    Ho geyi Mir teri kya soorat

    [Mir your eyes are sunken and your face is pale
    What a face yours has become
    ]

    The rose is also closely affiliated in Islam with the opening Sura' [chapter] of The Holy Quran.

  13. Could you be any more enchantingly lovely? I highly doubt it. Amazing outfit - I really like how beautifully those aged peach hues compliment your dark locks, as well as the whole alluring, sweet, romantic feel of this wonderful look.
